We arrived in Pucon after a really nice 11 hour busride. For like €15 you have the busride, food and a man who puts a blanket over you. Francois (the french guy who organised the whole week and shaped the course) piked us up at the busstation and drove us to our cabanja. We changed into our snowboarding gear and Dorian came to pick us up and drive us to the Volcano. The drive up to the Volcano is a 4x4 adventure on it’s self.
On the Volcano you go up with a red chairlift and then there are 4 lifts, a park and a BX track.
The first day it was misty but we still had a good day. Our cabanja is really cool, there’s a little fireplace to warm it up and during the day a guy comes and does our beds, puts wood on the fire and even does our dishes!
The next day was blue skies, we shot some cool pics and had a really nice day of riding. Pucon is so beautiful so if you ever have a chance of going there; GO!
The following day it was blue skies againg but there was so much wind that the volcano was closed. Piollo and Isabel (the brasilian team) took us for a ride and showed us the beautiful spots around Pucon.
The wind was gone down and the moutain opened, we had a very nice day of riding. At night the wind came back and for the next three days it took over the mountain. But there is not sutch thing as getting boared in Pucon. The first day we went rafting. It was a very wild river and cold as hell but didn’t prevent us from a little swim. After that we were obiously cold and drove to Los Pozones. These are natural hotsprings that are heated by the vulcano. This was heaven for our cold bodies hehehe After that we fell a sleep like babies.
We woke up discovering is was closed yet again. So we went for a hike in a national forest. The forest, lakes, waterfall and most of all the view are so beautiful! We hiked for 3 hours till we came to a point where we didn’t know if we were still on the trail. The snow was knee deep and we were making the track and other groups followed it. We didn’t make it to the top but we were really close!
Our last day it snowed so we chilled out, ate the biggest hamburger in our life, drunk some pisco sour and hoped on the bus to Santiago.
The world cup update will be next!
