WORLD CUP & BYE BYE CHILE

World Cup
After having spend 3 days in the Hyatt it was time for some action. The first two world cups snowboardcross of the new season are in Valle Nevado.
After a seeing how the guys were riding the cool course it was our turn. The cours that the shaper put down for us was technical, good and a lot of work. It started off with al couple of mini Wu-tangs, 6 narly rollers and then you arrived at the first curve. After that there were a lot of jumps, turns, a step-up and more rollers. By the end of the cours you’re gasping for air and on that alititude it’s not easy.
The second day was a little bit of training and qualifing. Bell was riding very good keeping lines, speed and accelerating where she could. Unfortunatly it was not enough to get a place in the top 16. Bell came in at place 24. But that didn’t keep us from a little party. Jacobellis and a Norweagian guy won the first cup.The next quali would be in two days.
They put in some new features at the start for the 2nd race and they changed a little bit in the rest of the course. We had 3 traingruns and right after that qualifing. You had to get used to the new course really fast. Bell had it down after 2 runs so she headed up to the qualifyer ready to go and full of confidence. She was a little bit too eager to go and messed up the new features at the start in her first run. In het 2nd run she made a couple of little mistakes and that cost her top 16. She ended up 23rd and was a little disapointed.
The closing party of the World Cup was awesome, the french and americans having foodfights, a lot of beer and crazy dancing.
We stayed in Valle Nevado 1 more day to take some pictures in the park befor we headed up to Santiago and the beach. Sebas took us to this sushi place and it was the best sushi we have EVER eaten.
The next day we took of to the beach with a ski team from Vail. We stayed in little cabanas right at the beach (sooooo nice). After a nice dinner and a good night of sleep we were ready to do some surfing! The water was sooooo cold (good we had some nice wetsuits) that after 2 hours you didn’t feel your feet anymore. The waves were big and a lot of close outs but that didn’t stop us from trying to drop in, hell you can’t surf in Chile every day…
After a full day of sightseeing in Santiago the next day, we went to the airport and headed up to Florida. We chilled out there for 2 days before we catched our flight home.
Now we’re batteling our jet leg and looking forward to seeing everybody at the Private premier this Friday!!
Seee you all there!!
